Transparent Lake Kamunzuku – Rubirizi District- Uganda
The transparent Lake Kamunzuku is situated just on the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the western district of Rubirizi. This virgin, fresh and seemingly untapped lake is a must-visit to all fun hunters.
The waters of Lake Kamunzuku is believed to have spiritual healing properties and is perceived to have healed tough gonorrhoea-infected people. This has been reliably testified by locals from neighbouring communities who have been healed. Many who are sick come and dive into the lake.

How to reach the Transparent Lake Kamunzuku
The transparent Lake Kamunzuku can be accessed through the Kasese-Ishasha route. Though this route may be dusty, you will go through the green twin crater lakes. The access road also leads you up to the Dave da cave area where a local guide can be accessed to help reach the lake. From Dave da Cave, one will also go through the banana plantations, thick trees of Katsyoha-Kitomi forest reserve in western Uganda.
Lake Kamunzuku is hidden deep in the forest thus has no water inlet or outlet. This tells why the water is clean, clear, and fresh simply because it originates from underground and could be filtered by different roots of forest trees.
For all the visitors intending or going to western Uganda via Lake Mburo National Park or Queen Elizabeth National Park, you can pass by the transparent lake.
