Lake Nkuruba reserve is located 25km south of Fort portal town. The lake sits astride the stunningly magnificent beautiful landscapes of the Rwenzori mountain ranges and Kibale forest national park.

Uganda is the home to several bird species (1061 species of birds).  These bird species are spread all over different places inclusive of Lake Nkuruba reserve.

The main birds spotted here for the bird lovers are the great  blue Turacco and the black and the white casqued HornBill bird. Birders welcome home.

Other attractions include: the banded mongoose and the squirrels that loiter around the place, on rare occasions, some lucky visitors spot the Cobra which belongs to snakes family.

Bicycle tours. What is more beautiful than riding a bicycle in the nature breezingly cooled place. There is more beauty to exploring this crater lake on bicycle.

Cultural dances from Nkuruba youth development group. They perfom in the Lake nkuruba’s reserve grounds. Ther performances are done on weekends (Saturday and Sundays) between 2pm – 4pm. You can book and be thrilled by their awesome energetic perfomances.

Do shopping.This involves shopping the original crafts and souvenirs made by the Uganda women living around Lake Nkuruba reserve.  The proceeds from the sale of these crafts supports these women in several ways so please when visiting this place, support them.
