Lake Mburo National Park is a small enriched with diversity Park covering an area of 370km.sq is situated along the major Kampala- Masaka highway connecting Kampala capital city to the western part of Uganda is found in the southwestern part of the country.

As small as it is but uniquely gifted with countless and priceless natural jewels of wildlife and nature making this a smallest Savannah jewel of Africa endowed hugely despite its size every part of it is alive with variety, interest and color all dotted with different tree species like acacia and other tree species. Lake Mburo National Park is the home to Zebras, topis, impalas, Kob family, Jackson hartebeest, buffaloes, elands, waterbuck, hippo, leopards, hyenas and so many several others. However, it is assumed that there is one lion here too that is nocturnal lion and its home to several bird species over 315 species. Lake Mburo National Park consists of various wetlands, wetland and harbors several species of mammals not found anywhere else in Uganda, including zebra and impalas. Forests, rich acacia tree valleys include the grass lands and seasonal and permanent swamps.  At Lake Mburo which is the main lake is home to several aquatic animals like hippos wallowing in the water and the large crocodiles lurking on the shores.

Birds this is a home for birding 315 bird species and it’s a smallest jewel to birders and species here include: cormorant, fish eagle, pelican, heron and many more.

Mammals

Lake Mburo National Park is the best place in Uganda to see the leopard, especially during night game drives and safaris. This is a best place for seeing what other parks have limited numbers like the Kob family, zebras and several others.This park is an arena to over 68 mammal species and amongst here are: zebra, impala, topi, eland, bush buck, buffalo, warthog, leopard, hyena and jackal.

Birds

Game drives

Both day and night game drives are carried out at Lake Mburo national park giving a chance e to view several wildlife in the areas of their location, habitants. The animals here include leopards at night during night drives, zebras, giraffes, topis, impalas, elands, kobs, Jackson hartebeests and several others. Hiking

The small national park is a jewel for several activities that are tasking yet so beautiful memories are embedded on them. Hiking is best way of exploring where the vans cannot penetrate thus exploring all corners with nature walks, hiking. Bicycle riding.
