In 2012, a few member of the Nkuringo gorilla family group disappeared from the group. After much efforts were injected into searching them, it was established that they had joined the Bushaho gorilla family group. Among the members that left Nkuringo gorilla group is Bahati who was a silverback here and when he moved to Bushaho gorilla group group, he became the dominant one.

The monitoring team of trekkers’ observed the conduct of the members of the parallel group. This group was later habituated and given the name Bushaho gorilla family. Bushaho area is a place where the group forages most. Bushaho gorilla family group has 11 members composed of 1 Silverback, 1 black-back, 4 adult females plus 2 semi adult females and 3 infants.
