Detailed Itinerary: 4 Days Kibale and Queen Elizabeth Uganda Safari

Day 1; pick up and drive to Kibale national park

Your guide will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe and welcome you for the safari. After packing all the luggage in the car, you will start your journey to the western part of Uganda enjoying the scenery, viewing tea plantations along the way, and also seeing the scenic hills and other attractions. You will check in at the lodge and have your lunch and in the evening, you will have an optional tour around Fort Portal to visit the king’s palace or engage in a cultural tour and return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2; chimpanzee trekking and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

After having breakfast early in the morning at the lodge, you will proceed to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8, and with your ranger guides, start the chimpanzee trekking experience in the Kibale forest. you will see other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and others, and hear bird calls as you move in the forest when you find the chimpanzees you will spend 1 hour with them before returning to the park headquarters for your certificates. After lunch, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth national park for check-in at your lodge and to relax as you prepare for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3; game drive and Kazinga boat cruise

Your breakfast will be served early at the lodge and you will engage in a morning game drive around Queen Elizabeth national park and search for wildlife species in the savannah such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, impalas, waterbucks, and many others.

You will have lunch at the lodge after the game drive and also enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which takes about 2 to 3 hours. During the boat cruise, you will see wildfire species like elephants and buffalos by the water shores, Nile crocodiles in the water, and different bird species as your guide gives you information about the Kazinga channel. After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4; drive to Kampala

You will have breakfast and after checking out of the lodge, you will start your journey to Kampala with a stop at the equator and in Mbarara for lunch. You will also stop at Igongo cultural center for a cultural experience with the Ankole people before continuing the journey which will bring the 4 days of Kibale and Queen Elizabeth national park safari to an end.
