Detailed Itinerary – 3 Day Uganda Birding Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Bird viewing at UWEC Entebbe Gardens.
Upon your arrival on 3 Day Uganda Birding Safari, our company representative will welcome you and brief you about your Uganda Safari. Depending on your time of arrival, you could be driven o the Uganda wildlife Education Center (UWEC) home captive animals and to several bird species including king fishers, weavers, sun birds, shoe bill stock, crested cranes, guinea fowls. Etc. later head to your hotel for dinner an overnight stay.
Day 2: Botanical Gardens.
Early in the morning, you will have relaxed breakfast and head to the Entebbe botanical gardens. There you will have an opportunity to view several bird species of the best bird trial around Kampala. With the species amounting to 150 species. You will be able to view. Ross turaco, red chested, lass and diederik cuckoo, great red warbler, red chested superb, copper, sun bird. Later you will have a picnic lunch in the garden while enjoying the serene and natural environment. Later in the evening return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Mabamba swamps and search for shoe bill.
You will wake up early in the morning and transfer to Mabamba swamp 50 km west of Kampala. Once you get there, you will look for several bird species, they include, western banded snakes, white spotted flu tail, weyns, papyrus gonalek, white shouldered tit, grey herons. You will also get an opportunity to view the elusive shoe bill stock. Another interesting way to enjoy a swamp vegetation is to take a canoe ride giving an opportunity to find the sitatunga antelope and other antelopes that have adapted to the swamp vegetation. Later you will drive back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
