It consists of bird watching at Uganda wildlife education center (UWEC) Entebbe botanical gardens home to several Uganda bird species within the area of Kampala including lake Victoria then later heading to Mabamba swamps 50km from Kampala home to many bird species including the shoebill stock.

Detail Itinerary  – 2 Days Uganda Birding Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Birding at the Entebbe Botanical Gardens

In the morning after breakfast on the first day of your 2 Days Uganda Birding Safari, move to the Uganda wildlife education center formerly known as the Uganda zoo. While there you will be able to view the birds such as Scaly Francolin, Meyer’s Parrot, Great-blue Turracco, Western Nicator, swamp Flycatchers, Red-bellied Flycatcher, Orange Weaver, African-fish Eagle, etc. depart from UWEC and head to Entebbe botanical gardens for another bird watching experience.

The botanical gardens consist of birds from all over Kampala they include those from Lake Victoria they include the African goshawk, Gabar Goshawk Laughing doves, and many more.

Day 2: Birding in Mabamba Swamp and Nkima Hill

Early in the morning after breakfast on the second day of your 2 Days Uganda Birding Tour, your guide will pick you and drive to Mabamba west of Kampala city about 50 km from Kampala. It contains a huge number of shoebill stocks in Uganda.

When you reach there, you will be briefed out your movements, get in the canoe being paddled by an experienced local personal, as your raw through the narrow water channels, you will begin to notice the presence of birds the most noticeable one include Papyrus Gonolek, Squacco Heron, Purple Swamphen, White-faced Whistling duck, African jacana and of course the most non-evolving pre-historic Shoebill.

Later we shall proceed and bird the Nkima hill that has a forest bit of it in search for species like the rare Bathawk, Red-headed Malimbe, white-spotted Flufftail, Fraser’s Flycatcher, Yellow-whiskered Greenbul and after drive back to our hotel.
