Habinyanja Group

This group began its habituation process in 1997. By 1999, this gorilla family group was successfully confirmed ready for tracking.  And instantly, its members automatically began to receive tourists in the same year of passing mock. Just as the human beings, when a family is huge and big, some family members will either peacefully break off or some factors will break them off either good or bad however with Habinyanja group, its huge size in the start had a peaceful group of the new group called Rushegura but up to now, they still peacefully crisscross each other now and again and co-exist harmoniously.

  • Rushegura Group:

Though this group was part of the Habinyanja group, the rangers, scientists were not so certain whether these groups members were ready for tracking that made them to be habituated for a short while and declared ready for tracking in 2000 and it instantly began receiving tourists 2002.

It is from this family group of gorillas that the Mishaya gorilla group was formed after it broke off from the main family. Upon exiting the group, 10 left leaving a balance of 15 in the mother Nshongi group.

Mishaya gorilla Group:

There are always factors that lead to the exit of a certain individual in a family of which the factors are either positive or negative and it is the same story here because the family had dispute that ignited the exit of 10 members from the biggest gorilla group on Nshongi to form Mishaya gorilla group but the two still live in one region or area called Rushaga in the southern area of Bwindi impenetrable forest
