Day 1: Departure for Samburu National Reserve
On this 3 Days Samburu National Game Reserve tour, after an early breakfast, your Jewel Safari guide will pick you up at your hotel in Nairobi, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and give you a short briefing of your itinerary.
You will then drive to Samburu National Reserve, a 4 -5 hour trip to the north. You will pass through many villages and trading centers on your way; a good opportunity for a visit to a local market and/or handicraft workshop.
Upon arrival, you will be taken to your accommodation to settle in and have lunch.
After lunch, you will be taken on an afternoon Game drive for your first encounter with the huge array of wildlife that is in the park.
Return after the Game Drive to your Accommodation, refresh, and have dinner.
Day 2: Samburu National Park
After breakfast, you will be taken on an early morning Game Drive; many games are best seen early in the day, as they seek shelter from the mid-day sun and are therefore more difficult to spot. There are many water holes and salt licks with shady areas that attract the wildlife, and you shall be taken to these spots for the best Game Viewing.
Lunch will be served in the Park in the form of a picnic, which will maximize your exposure to the animals. After the lunch break, you will continue with the Game Viewing and photographing of the enormous array of animals to be encountered. Samburu has many predators, and watching these animals hunt and catch their prey, is quite a common sight for visitors.
Late Afternoon, you will return to the Lodge for freshening up and Dinner.
Day 3: Return to Nairobi:
After breakfast, you will be driven back to Nairobi; en-route you will stop at Thompson Falls to view the highest elevated hippo pools in Africa, around the summit of the 74-meter falls.
Lunch at the Falls, or en route; continue the drive to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon.
Depending on the time, and your ongoing schedule, one can visit the Giraffe Center in Karen on the return journey, where you will have an opportunity to feed and stroke the giraffe that lives at the Center.
Depending on your ongoing schedule, you will either be taken to your hotel in Nairobi or directly to Jomo Kenyatta Airport to catch your flight.
