Uganda has got two seasons that is rainy season and dry season but clients always prefer trekking around dry season which is the month of June, July, August and early September then we have December till February but that doesn’t mean that it won’t rain in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park because the park is located in the tropical rain forest and its climate is influenced by micro conditions of the area, so went in Bwindi impenetrable forest expect rains any time of the days.
Uganda is crossed by the Equator that has modified climate with two seasons. Gorilla Safaris during raining season is too challenging because it is hard to hike and trek the impenetrable forest due to the heavy rains which makes the trails so slippery and it hard to see the mountain gorillas.

Gorilla Habituation Experience
Gorilla Habituation Experience is in another level compared to trekking and tracking. While doing gorilla trekking or tracking, a group or an individual is permitted to spend ONLY one hour with gorillas, habituation experience permits you to spend 4 hours in the company of gorillas.
However, as the saying goes “each valuable stuff has a bigger price” for one to do a habituation, US $1500 is charged compared to the USD $ 600 charged for gorilla trekking permits.
Gorilla habituation is a process where mountain gorillas are trained to get used to people without shying out, attacking, and doing many nasty things when tracked.
Due too often visits to where they frequent by researchers, they familiarize themselves with people. Also, during habituation experience, the group habituating will be able to learn more on how individual gorillas behave since their behaviors tend to vary.
When the habituated gorillas have been confirmed to be trekked and tracked that of course is in a long run, they are awarded with a name, introduced for trekking that is always carried out by the first set of scientists, journalists that is always a mock exam for them.
Once they pass, they are introduced for trekking to the visiting tourists to trek them both local and international tourists. Will you be among them? Well book a trip if its yes for a response on Jewel Safaris Uganda.
At Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, there are gorilla habituation regions and in the north of the park there is Buhoma region where Mubare, Habiyanga and Rushegura were habituated from. To the East of the park, the gorilla families habituated include; Bitukura, Oruzogo and Kyaguriro, in the south found the Ruhija section where gorilla families habituated include:, Nshonji, Mishaya, Busingye, Bweza, Kahungye in Rushaga then Nkuringo all making 11 habituated gorilla families in total number.
Two gorilla families have been put aside for gorilla habituation experience and are located in the Nkuringo and Rushaga side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Apparently, the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park only supports gorilla habituation experience because Rushaga and Nkuringo where the two families put aside for the experience are in the south and Jewel Safaris Uganda is very ready to help you habituate them just book for a trip with us and all will be set for you.
