Ruhija is uniquely a home to the best 3 family groups of gorillas. This is one of one four sectors with mountain gorillas found in Bwindi impenetrable national park. The other sectors include: Buhoma, Nkuringo and Rushaga.

Ruhija

Since it’s all well known that Uganda alone has a half of the remaining great apes of the mountain gorilla’s species. Ruhuja section comprises of 3 family groups of gorillas that include Bitukura family group, Kyaguriro family group and Oruzogo family group. All these groups give 24 people to gorillas from this sector 8 people in each family group. The people interested in tracking gorillas in this region have choice to determine which family group to do gorilla trekking on depending on the availability of the gorilla permits.

Ruhija
