Detailed Itinerary – 5 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari

Day 1: From Arusha, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

From Arusha, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. After breakfast at the hotel, an allocated Tanzania tour guide will be at the hotel or place of residence for pick up and briefing on the trip. After the briefing, you will then drive to Lake Manyara National Park. After arrival at the park, you have lunch then proceed for an afternoon game drive.

The park is home to the shallow soda lakes which attracts a variety of wildlife species including one of Africa’s largest concentration of elephants. One of the unique attractions in the park includes the tree climbing lions as well as the large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. After the game drive, you transfer to a booked hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: From Lake Manyara transfer to Serengeti National Park

Start the day with breakfast then transfer to Serengeti National Park driving through the beautiful high lying farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The Serengeti plains are at times referred to as endless because of the vastness of the park. Arriving at the park during lunchtime, you will proceed to the visitor center close to the Seronera lodge. From the visitor center, you start seeing wildlife and proceed for lunch. After lunch, you later on go for an afternoon game drive around the kopjes with a number of lions. Transfer to booked hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full day experience at Serengeti National Park

On the third day of this 5 days Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast then go for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti plains. The game drive takes you along the Sogore River circuit which twists into the plains south of the Seronera River. Since this is a water area, wildlife collects in this area to quench its thirst. Some of the wildlife animals to look out for here include lions, Thomson gazelle, topi, and cheetahs.

After the morning game drive, return to the hotel for lunch or have a picnic lunch. Later in the afternoon take a game drive on the kopjes. After this evening game drive, return to a preferred accommodation facility for dinner and overnight.

By lunchtime, you will arrive at the Ngorongoro Conservation area and have lunch at a hotel. Boasting a high population of wildlife, the Ngorongoro crater offers spectacular wildlife viewing sights. Late on you visit Lake Magadi which is a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner that attracts the pink flamingos.

Transfer to preferred booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
