Detailed Itinerary – 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Chimp Trekking Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

We leave at 7 after our morning breakfast to Murchison Falls National Park driving through Kampala.  On your way, you will see the legendary Luwero triangle, today is a small town with a trading center recognized for its agonizing past during Obote’s regime.

We shall do a rhino tracking activity and then have lunch. After lunch, you will continue with your drive through Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo forest. When you reach the park, drive directly to the Top of the falls, such a pretty site for appreciating the mighty River Nile and the most powerful waterfall.

Day 2: Enjoy Murchison Falls National Park

Set off for an early morning game drive on the Northern Delta Nile. Lions, Lake Chad buffaloes, Defassa waterbuck, Lelwel’s hartebeest, Nubian giraffe, Oribi, and baboons are some of the animals you will spot.

After the drive, we shall return to our hotel and have a hot lunch before heading out for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. While on the cruise, we hope to see big schools of hippos, Nile crocodiles busking by the sun side, and birds like Yellow-billed Stork, Goliath heron, African skimmers, and the Nesting Red-throated Bee-eaters by the cliffside. Depending on the fatigue, we can choose to head back to the hotel and relax after the cruise or continue with a short game drive.

 Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After morning breakfast, we drive south of the country through the escarpment. Depending on the stopovers, we shall have hot lunch in Fort Portal.

After lunch, we shall drive to Queen Elizabeth, and if time allows we can take on a short game drive in search of more wildlife. The drive can be productive in rewarding species like the tree-climbing lions, giant forest hogs among others.

 Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Today we shall have a morning breakfast and after we shall take a short game drive in search for more species and after we start our transfer to Bwindi driving through Ishasha sighting species like Topis, we then shall have a hot lunch from Savannah Hotel then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest arriving in the evening.

Overnight at Four Gorillas Lodge, Ichumbi Safari Lodge, Rushaga Gorilla Camp, Gorilla Valley Safari Lodge

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking

After our morning breakfast, we then drive to the briefing point where we shall be briefed by the ranger, and then we shall be allocated to different Gorilla groups.

After we then start our trek into the jungle searching for these gentle Giants and along the trek we shall encounter different animal species, when we get to these Gorillas we are then given an hour with them and after we start our walk back to the starting point, depending on the time you come back we can do the Batwa Experience and after return to the hotel for your dinner.

Day 6: Return back to Kampala

Have our morning breakfast and start our journey back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator before arriving in Kampala for an overnight or Entebbe for your flight back home.
